The Peace Education Program in Aceh is led by Dr. Asna Husin and has 2 major programs: Peacebuilding for ULama (Islamic clerics), and Peace Education in the High Schools of Aceh.

We have recently published a huge resource manual, entitled Kurikulum Pendidikan Damai: Perspectif Ulama Aceh (Peace Education Curriculum: An Ulama perspective) At 366 pages, this resource manual is being used by Ulama and others in Aceh to strengthen activities for peace.  Copies can be obtained from our Aceh program or the Washington DC office. We expect English and Arabic versions to be available soon.

Our peace education program in the high schools of Aceh uses a 2nd edition resource manual developed by our staff.  We currently reach students in more than 100 high schools.

Given the civil war in Aceh, programs such as these have been very difficult to implement.  On the other hand, the need for these services.
