Jamie Canty is from Virginia USA, where she attends George Mason University studying for her master’s degree in Public Policy. Jamie has a bachelor’s degree in Biology and Leadership Studies. Her passion for human rights started in her earliest years after bearing witness to disability-related oppression and violence. Jamie became more active in large-scale peace-building efforts in her college career, working with organizations such as the Friends Committee on National Legislation and the Virginia Interfaith Center for Public Policy. She finds much of her passion and conviction in working towards the liberation and autonomy of all, from her faith and appreciates interfaith dialogue. In her spare time, Jamie enjoys reading to further her knowledge of different issues around the world, she enjoys cooking and walking in nature. When in need of light-hearted conversation, Jamie enjoys sharing her knowledge about animals and biology.
