Since October 7, 2023, Israel’s assault on Gaza has involved an extraordinary volume of explosive force. But where do these weapons come from, and who makes it possible for them to reach the battlefield? Join us for “Bombs Don’t Build Themselves: Who’s Arming Israel’s Wars?”, a roundtable organized with Voices from the Holy Land, that will examine the global arms network supplying weapons to Israel.
The event will take place on October 18, Sunday, at 3pm ET (12pm PT / 9pm CEST / 10pm Jerusalem).
The discussion will trace the governments, corporations, manufacturers, supply chains, and transit routes involved in the transfer of weapons, while examining the international legal frameworks designed to regulate these transfers, including the Arms Trade Treaty and international humanitarian law.
Our speakers will also explore the gaps between these legal obligations and their enforcement, and discuss the accountability mechanisms available to advocates seeking to challenge arms transfers and strengthen international action.
Join the Q&A discussion with:
Josh Paul — Co-founder, A New Policy; Former Director, Bureau of Political-Military Affairs, U.S. Department of State
Natalie Davidson — Associate Professor, Buchmann Faculty of Law
Hine-Wai Loose — Director, Control Arms in Geneva — Moderator
Registered participants will also receive a selection of curated videos to watch ahead of the discussion, providing additional context for the roundtable.
