From Here Forward is a grassroots documentation, education, and leadership-building project led by Mattan Berner-Kadish, an Israeli-American who has spent much of his life between the United States and Israel/Palestine. Since 2021, Mattan has been regularly present in the occupied West Bank, building deep relationships with residents of Umm Al-Khair in Masafer Yatta, and bearing witness to extreme Israeli settler and military violence, including the killings of Haj Suleiman Hathaleen and Awdah Hathahleen.
Why This Work Matters
Within Jewish and interfaith communities throughout the United States, people are searching for credible information, moral clarity, and meaningful ways to respond to what is happening on the ground in Israel/Palestine. Yet there are very few initiatives that combine rigorous documentation, firsthand presence, and structured pathways for civic and political engagement.
From Here Forward seeks to fill that gap.

Our Approach
Many organizations are working courageously to slow the ethnic cleansing and displacement of Palestinians happening in the occupied West Bank. This project works in parallel by helping speed up political and moral accountability in the United States, recognizing that meaningful change requires both local resistance and international pressure.
Through sustained protective presence, building real relationships, and responsible storytelling, From Here Forward strengthens grassroots understanding while helping communities move from awareness to action.
